Head of Steel Shop

Your tasks:

  • Organize and manage daily production activities and production planning in the steel structure workshop, ensuring compliance with quality standards and deadlines
  • Ensure general operational order in the workshop
  • Prepare reports for management (e.g., production data, scrap rates)
  • Coordinate logistics of semi-finished goods between internal workshops
  • Actively participate in 5S and continuous production process improvement initiatives
  • Identify, report, and coordinate solutions to production issues
  • Manage workforce allocation in line with production plans, participate in recruitment, evaluation, training, and internal development programs
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety and quality assurance regulations
  • Organize, coordinate, and monitor the work of the team
  • Prepare and review work instructions, process descriptions, and technical documentation
  • Propose measures for production optimization
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality assurance, and other departments
  • Use enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

Your profile:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of welding methods: TIG (AWI), MIG/MAG, MMA
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in welded structures in custom machinery manufacturing
  • Communicative proficiency in English and/or German
  • Experience and capability to manage a 30–40 person operational team
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes
  • Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD software
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities
  • Intercultural competence
